About Penny

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Penny was pulled from a high kill shelter in Alabama. I happened to be on vacation there when I found out about her. She had been at the shelter for a long time and was so stressed while there that she lost a lot of weight and fell into a depression. She is such a "people dog" that she just couldn't bear being there and not having any human companionship. So on my way home from vacation I stopped and got her. She is now in Arkansas in a foster home and she is doing wonderful there. She gets along great with the other dogs and cats. She loves everyone she meets. Penny weighed 34lbs when I got her from the shelter but should probably be about 40lbs. She is house trained to use a dog door, but may need some help with learning to give signals when she needs out to potty. She will walk on a leash but is a little timid when leashed. She loves to be loved and is very eager to please her person, so I think she would learn anything quickly, just to make her person happy. Penny is about 1 1/2 yrs old and she wiill make a wonderful family companion. Thank you for considering one of our rescue pups!
