5/1/15 These babies had a rough start in life. Their mama is a Pit Bull Terrier named "Buttercup." She was evidently dumped while pregnant. A good Samaritan saw her crossing a highway one day and she was very pregnant. The next day they saw her again and she was no longer pregnant. The lady called in rescue to help and after searching, her little nest of newborn babies was found in a nearby wooded area. She was trying to hard to take care of them and had done all she could to make their little bed comfy and warm. Buttercup was starving and extremely thin, but her babies were fat and healthy. We are still working to get Buttercup to a healthy weight - she has had a very hard road, but she is safe now and she is such a sweet heart. Her babies are now old enough to be away from her, they are eating solid food. They are about 7weeks old as of 5/1. These babies have been handled cuddled a lot while they've been with us, so they are very social and loving. They will make excellent companions, just like their sweet mama! Buttercup is about 40lbs but I expect her babies to be larger than her, although it's hard to tell at this young age. They are all beautiful and healthy, happy babies! Buttercup and babies are located here in ARkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted.
