PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
4/8/15 Bandit was released to a shelter when his owner went into a nursing home. He was very sad and depressed in the shelter, even though the shelter staff gave him extra special attention and treats. He missed his family. So he was pulled by rescue and placed in a foster home. He has done really well in his foster home, although there are many other dogs there, much like a shelter. He is allowed to sleep in bed with his foster mom at night, and that cuddle time is important to him. Bandit is approx. 10 years old. As a shih-tzu, that's really not very old. He still has a lot of life and love left to give some lucky person. Bandit weighs about 12 lbs so he is a great little size. He is friendly and happy and does well with the other dogs in the foster home. At the shelter, he was around cats and did fine with them as well. He would probably do best in a home with older children or no children, as he does tend to get nervous around young, energetic, loud kids. He just hasn't been around them much so he's not quite sure what to think about them. Bandit is housetrained but may need some reminders once he is in his forever home. All dogs are likely to have accidents their first few days in a new place, until they learn the routine. Bandit just needs someone to love. He has so much love to give. Please don't let his age fool you - he is very spry for a guy his age and he can keep up with anyone! Bandit is in ARkansas and will remain here until adopted, at which time he will be transported to the northeast.
