PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
12/27/14 These beautiful little Shar Pei babies were found in a box in a parking lot in Arkansas a few days before Christmas. We believe they are full blooded Shar Pei's, at least they appear to be. These are some of the cutest and sweetest babies! They are affectionate and love to be picked up and held and cuddled. Little Inigo is the only one who is not wrinkled. Shar Pei's that are not wrinkled are called Bone Mouth Shar Peis, and they are actually an older breed. The wrinkles, loose skin shar pei's are called Meat Mouth Shar Peis. The bone mouths typically have fewer health problems, due to the lack of excess skin. Inigo is the most beautiful of the litter, in my opinion, and he is also the most affectionate. He is always the first one to greet me and he demands to be picked up and held, to the point that he will even bypass the food bowl in an effort to be picked up and loved on. It's saying something when a puppy chooses affection over food! Inigo is a very unique silver fawn color. It is hard to capture the true color of his coat in the pictures. He is fawn by has a silver overtone, which makes him look almost blue. Very pretty! His coat is also softer to touch than his littermates. Inigo and his brothers and sister appear to be about 8 weeks old, with an estimated birthday of Nov. 1, 2014. These babies will make very good family companions, but would do best with a family who has researched the Shar Pei breed and will be willing and able to make the time commitment to properly train and socialize their puppy. People with experience with the breed will be given priority. These puppies are located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. For more info, email Kelley.aasr@gmail.com. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
