Great Pyrenees : : Male : : Adult : : X-Large
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
10/15/14 Samson was owner surrendered to the shelter for financial reasons. His owner said he did not get along well with other male dogs, but we have not seen any aggression from him at all since he's been at the shelter. His owner said he is fine with female dogs. Samson is a Great Pyrenees and he is a very sweet boy who is confused and scared in the shelter environment. He needs a home where he can be comfortable again. He doesn't understand where his people are or why they left him. But with some patience and love, he will bond with another person quickly. Samson came to the shelter with many mats and a terrible flea infestation. We had to shave a lot of his hair to get the mats out, so he doesn't look as beautiful now as he will once his coat is grown out again. He does have some skin issues which are flea related so it will be important for his new mom or dad to keep him on a good flea product to avoid any more flea bites. Otherwise, Samson is a healthy boy and is ready for a new chapter in his life! Samson is located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted.
