PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

4.15.13 Jenny is an amazing, loving Golden Retriever who was taken in as a stray. Her family did come forward and confirmed that she was theirs, but they did not take her back because "they don't believe in keeping dogs in a fence or in the house". Jenny had a baby with her, and she has been rescued as well. It looks as though Jenny has had many litters of babies. Jenny is very gentle natured and is a bit shy with new people. She is crate trained and I believe she is also housetrained, no thanks to her previous owners. Jenny looks to be about 4 years old. She has had a rough life. some of her teeth are worn down and it looks like she's had an injury to her right eye. She can still see out of the eye, and there is no scratch on the cornea, but there is some discoloration. It is healing and does not seem to be painful any more. Jenny tested positive for heartworms, but is being treated and will be heartworm free and ready for her new home around mid May. Jenny will make a great family pet - but she is shy with new people and a little bit scared of new folks so children need to know not to snatch/grab at her until she gets to know them. It doesn't take her long to learn who she can trust. Jenny knows to sit and shake. And she never jumps up on people. She is quiet and does not bark or whine while crated. She is truly a wonderful girl who has a lot of love to give, she just needs someone to give it to. Jenny is located in ARkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
