About Taffy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog

1/21/13 Taffy, Reecie, and Ruthie are all littermates. Their mom was found in a ditch that had filled w/ water after we had a snow/ice storm and it melted. Their poor little mama was in that ice cold water filled ditch and was on the brink of starvation, and did not have the energy to pull herself out of the ditch. She was in the midst of giving birth and the 2 puppies that she had already given birth to had died, either from the cold or they drowned.  A good samaritan took mom in and helped her with the remaining babies, which were born shortly after they got mom out of the water and to a vet. These 3 have been perfectly healthy, happy little girls. And mom is now happy and on her way to good health as well. Mom appears to be a small lab mix, and from the looks of Ruthie, dad was evidently a blue heeler, or Australian Cattle Dog. Taffy, Reecie, and Ruthie are wonderful, friendly, loving little babies. THey are about 5 weeks old now (as of 1/21/13). They will be ready to go their new homes the weekend of Feb. 9th. They are currently located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once they are adopted. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com. Thank you for considering a rescue pup!

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
