11/8/12 Tux found his wonderful forever home today - we are so thrilled for him - from heartbreak to total happiness with people who love him !!! 10-28-12 Tux is a sweet boy who was adopted from a very high kill shelter. He loved his new mom so much and was a perfect little boy for her. Sadly, a few months after he was adopted, his sweet little mama passed away unexpectedly from a heart condition. Tux stayed by her side, until her family discovered her and forced him to leave her. Tux has grieved for his loss but is now starting to feel a little better, thanks to his wonderful foster mom and dad. They have given him the TLC needed to begin to heal. Tux is very loving and bonds quickly with those who show him love and compassion. However, it does take him a little time to warm up and he did nip at his foster dad the 1st day he was there. He was so scared and traumatized by losing his mom, so we are not judging him too harshly for that behavior. Tux would do best in a home with a retired person, or a retired couple. He would not be a good candidate for a home with young children, as people reaching towards him quickly make him nervous. He needs an adopter who will be patient with him while he learns to trust them and gets adjusted to his new surroundings. This little man will make it so worth the effort! He will reward you with an unending supply of love! Tux is still grieving for his mom, so his adopters will need to be understanding and compassionate. Tux is believed to be about 3 years old and weighs about 15lbs. He gets along very well with other dogs. Tux is located here in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted.
