About Jax

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

8/9/12 Jax was found as a stray, along with his companion Josie, and her 3 puppies. Thankfully, the good samaritan who found them, took them in and kept them safe until they could be placed in a foster home. They are now safely tucked away in a loving foster home in ARkansas, where they are doing very well. Jax loves everyone. He is more affectionate than Josie, and he loves the puppies. He is the one who watches over the babies when people are playing with them, then he is the one who cleans them up after they eat, potty, etc. He is so maternal - it is actually a bit comical! Jax weighs about 10 lbs. and we think he is about 1 year old. He does great with other dogs and has adjusted very well to being in a home with many other foster dogs of various sizes. While Jax and Josie love eachother, we do not feel that it is absolutely necessary to keep them together. It would be great to place them together, but we think they will adjust just fine to being seperated. Jax is good with kids, but should be in a home where there will not be very young children snatching at him. I think a home with young children would be fine as long as they are respectful of him. He has been around many children of various ages while in our care, and he has done great with all of them! Jax is doing well with housetraining - he has only had a couple of accidents, and with so many dogs and so many smells, who can blame him for that? He learns quickly and he is eager to please. This little man will be so happy to have a home of his own, where he can give all of his love to someone who appreciates it. Jax is currently located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
