Shouting "WELCOME TO RESCUE" to this stunning Catahoula, Bru!
Bru was found wandering up and down the street in front of someone's house. They posted him on social media and turns out, his former owner recognized him and reached out. This poor guy was an owned dog, was rehomed to someone else. That person ended up not being able to keep him and was supposed to pass him off to a rescue but instead they dumped him. The house he was in front of is where he used to live with his original owner. That house has been sold to someone else now and his former owner no longer lives there. Bru traveled many miles in the heat to get back home, trying desperately to get back to his person that he loves. His feet are blistered from walking on hot pavement. He is sore, sad, and confused. But he is safe and he is healing, both physically and emotionally. He is ready for a home of his own now. He was already neutered and is heartworm negative.
Friends, this is why you don't just give your pets away. Bru should not have gone through all of this. I don't know what the circumstances were, why his 1st owner couldn't move Bru with him, and they may have been legitimate reasons. But dogs are our most loyal friends. They grieve when they lose the family they love. Thankfully, the new home owner where Bru ended up was a kind and compassionate human who took him in and kept him safe until we could get him. And thankfully Jennifer Finch stepped up to foster him and help him heal. We are happy he is safe, and look forward to helping him find his forever family.
