PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

We are happy to announce a new partnership with the Arkansas Paws in Prison Foundation! Chloe is one of our first dogs to enter the program. While there, she will learn basic obedience- sit, down, roll over, etc. We are so excited! She’ll be there for a few weeks and in the meantime we’ll have her listed for adoption in hopes that she’ll have an adopter when she completes the Paws in Prison program. Such an exciting opportunity for AASR!

Her story- Chloe followed a kid home from school one day, but the family could not afford to properly care for her. They did try to keep her safe. She is a pit bull mix and they live in an area that is known for having many dog fighting rings, and they didn't want her falling into the hands of a dog fighter. Soon after she got there, she had 11 babies, which complicated the situation further. The family cared for mom and pups the best they could, but they have very limited means. We appreciate that they at least made an effort to keep them all safe, and we stepped in to help as soon as we were made aware of the situation and had foster homes secured. Chloe was full of fleas and skinny when she was rescued but she’s so much better now!

Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.

Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays

Southington, CT 8am Fridays
East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
