1/26/23 Kai has a pretty sad story but we are hoping to give her a happy ending. Kai was abandoned last summer when her family moved and left her behind. She survived off of garbage and the occasional food put out by people in the neighborhood. It wasn't long before Kai got pregnant. No one in her neighborhood wanted her around. She eventually found her way to a house that she could go under to have her babies. She gave birth to 6 babies. The owner of that house is who contacted our rescue and they helped us get the puppies out from under the house and the whole family into rescue. Sadly, 3 of her puppies were already deceased and the other 3 were very sick so we had to separate them and bottle feed them until they were old enough to eat on their own. They not only survived but thrived and have now gone to their new homes. Kai has been spayed and vetted and is now ready for a home of her own. She is a beautiful girl, but she has 2 strikes against her. 1. She is a pit bull. 2. She is totally deaf. Despite her disability, she is very trainable and is eager to learn, and she is incredibly affectionate. She really has no reason to love people, but she does. She is wonderful with kids and is good with other low key dogs. She doesn't enjoy high energy dogs that are in her face, possibly because she is deaf and can't understand their cues. But she gets along very well with the mellow dogs in her foster home and has not shown any aggression to them at all. Will you help Kai find her happy ending?
