4/12/23 UPDATE Though Emmy Lou and Pee Willy are very attached to each other, we are going to have to separate them. They've been listed for quite some time and nobody has applied to adopt them. We hate to separate them, but we know they'll adjust.

1/2023: Pee Willy and Emmy Lou
From their foster mom-
Everyone, these two cuties are Emmy Lou and Pee Willy. I have been fostering them for the last few weeks and they are such wonderful dogs! They are available to adopt separately, but let me emphasize the fact that in the few weeks they've lived with me and my crew, it is without a doubt they are so very close. I'm praying there's someone out there who will see them, fall in love, and welcome them into your family as a pair. These 2 are like peanut butter and jelly! They eat together, sleep together, play together…they do everything together! Finding homes for bonded pairs is hard but we are at least going to try.
They are both about a year old. Emmy Lou (all black) seems to be a Lab mix and Pee Willy (black and white) seems to be a hound/lab mix. They look bigger in pictures than they really are. They're 99% housetrained and love the crate. They LOVE to play! They will run and chase each other for hours if I'd let them, but it's very cold here, so playtime is limited to short periods often. They're not picky eaters, they love my other dogs. They've seen my cays, but my cats are old and like to stay to themselves, so I'm not really sure how these two mingle with cats. They do EVERYTHING TOGETHER. Sleep, eat, play, you name it. Where there's one, the other is right there. They came here with pure puppy manners and energy and I've worked with them some, but they will need some basic training. Both are super smart, eager to learn and please, and VERY treat motivated, so that makes it easier to train. Emmy Lou will sleep with me in bed next to Pee Willy, but Pee Willy insists on being snuggled up between me and Emmy Lou and he likes to be underneath the comforter. They truly have very sweet temperaments.
They have been listed since October with no interest at all in either of them
Their back story-
There's an older gentleman with a huge heart for animals who lives in a rural area where many dogs are dumped and left for death. Some make their way to his home and he feeds and tries to care for them the best he can. Being on a fixed income, he found himself struggling to provide them with the care they need. These two were young puppies. It's not very clear if they are siblings, but it's a high possibility. Thankfully the rescue was able to take them in.

They are spayed and neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested (negative) and started on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
