PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
Gus is the sweetest goofball you’ve ever met! He loves people and is excellent with other dogs. He is currently in a foster home with a cat and is great with him! Curious at first, but has mostly ignored the . Gus has more of a submissive personality. He would make a great hiking or running partner. He enjoys car rides and rides very well. He loves toys and belly rubs! He is also housetrained. He doesn't like being crated but does settle into it after pouting for a few minutes. Gus is smart and trainable. Pretty energetic. He needs a little bit of work on the leash, he doesn’t pull he just doesn’t quite understand the concept and tries to pull away (may be better with a harness vs. collar). Now for Gus’ sad story. He was found in a ditch on a busy interstate highway. He was terrified with all the traffic flying past him, but after some coaxing he trusted Kelley enough to allow her to slip a leash over his head and get him to safety. Someone either dumped him on the highway or was a stray that nobody cared about.
Gus still seems to be growing so we think he’s roughly 6 months old (though this is obviously just an estimate since we have no history on him). He weighs about 40lbs now. We believe he is a Shepherd mix, maybe some hound thrown in too! Gus is neutered, utd, and heartworm negative and started on prevention. He is ready for a family of his own!
