Penelope Pug PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS OR SENDING APPLICATION Penelope came into rescue as a stray. We believe she was a "breeder discard." A kind lady noticed an unlicensed car parked at a vacant house a few doors down from her, then a little while later, Penelope was in her yard. We believe she was dumped. It was evident that she had had many puppies before. Penelope appears to be about 4 years old. She has had a hard life but despite that, she is incredibly sweet. She adores other dogs. She is a little bit shy with new people at first and will run when you try to pick her up, but once you have her, she's all about love. She just needs some confidence building. When I say she runs, she's not really trying to run away. It's more like she just doesn't know what's about to happen and she kind of shies away. She's not really built for speed,, so she's pretty easy to catch. Penelope has bonded to another little dog, Millie, who came into rescue about the same time she did. They have really come to love eachother but I feel like both of them would bond to other dogs as well, so it's not a requirement for them to stay together. However, if someone wanted to adopt them both we would discount their adoption fees. Penelope had heartworms when she came to us but has been treated and is doing great now. She has also been spayed and brought up to date on shots. She is not house trained but she is crate trained. I think once she's in a calmer home with fewer dogs she will learn house training easier. With so many dogs here, it is hard to train because by the time you get some of them outside and back in, the others have had accidents. So she will need a family who is willing to work with her and teach her all the things. Penelope Pug has so much potential to add an incredible amount of love to a family. She is totally non aggressive and just a roley poley little girl and I feel that she would do well with children due to her gentle nature. Penelope weighs about 14lbs. Location: Arkansas.
