1/7/20 URGENT! Located in NH. Haisley is a gorgeous cattle dog mix, about a year old and 60lbs. She came into rescue when her previous owner had to escape an abusive relationship and could not take Haisley with her. It came to our attention that Haisley was also suffering some abuse, which is why her mama didn't want to leave her there when she fled. She was staying in a dangerous relationship to try to protect Haisley, but when we found out the circumstances we intervened, to keep them both safe. She is very affectionate and loving, and is a bit of a velcro dog- she wants to be right with her person at all times. She is perfect on leash and off, with impeccable recall. In her previous home, Haisley did well with the other resident dogs who were small breeds. However, in her foster home she has not done as well with the other dogs who are close to her size and of similar breed. We believe it is due to her working dog mentality, and her need to "herd" and the other dogs are also cattle dog breeds so they don't submit to being herded, and this is a source of confusion and frustration for all of them. So a home with either no other pets or with a submissive smaller dog is recommended. She does chase the cat in her foster home (this is probably also herding behavior) so no cats unless there is a way to keep them separated or very closely supervised. She is house trained and crate trained. She loves car rides and would be an excellent traveling/hiking/running companion. She needs an outlet for her abundant energy so a fenced yard or a family who is 100% committed to lots of daily exercise is required. Haisley loves all people and wants to love and be loved, she just isn't in the right place right now, and the fighting among her and her foster siblings has become difficult to control. Therefore, she is in urgent need of a new foster home or adopter. Please share to help her find the right home and family. Haisley is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on shots, and fully vetted. If interested in adopting or fostering Haisley, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com.
