PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
***This dog is currently located in Arkansas. He/She is listed in all the states we offer transport to or near. Transport is provided by www.heartsllc.com or www.alphadogtransport.com once there is an adopter ready to accept the dog. Meeting the dog prior to adopting is simply not possible, unless you want to come to Arkansas (we would be thrilled to have you, if you want to do some traveling!)Please check the websites referenced to see if one of our transporters offers a stop close to you. We do offer a refund and to take the dog back into rescue, if he/she is not as described or not a good fit for you, if you let us know within a week of receiving him/her. Please understand, we are listing our available dogs anywhere we can, to offer them the best chance of finding the right family and having a happy life filled with love.*** 9/19/19 Little Leonard comes into rescue from a kill shelter in southern Arkansas. We believe he is a Papillon mix. He appears to be about 4 years old. Leonard is a sweet little guy, but is nervous natured at first, until he knows he is safe. He would be best suited to a quiet home and family without young children. He has never shown any aggression towards anyone, but we feel that the noise that comes with a young family may be too much for him and would probably make him nervous. Leonard is in a foster home that uses a doggy door, which he does fine with. He may need some training to learn to let his new family know when he needs to go outside. He does still have the occasional accident, but there are many dogs in the foster home and with so many smells and chaos, it's to be expected. He will do better with this once he's in a home of his own. We have had Leonard neutered and he tested negative for heartworms. We have brought him up to date on shots. He weighs 9lbs. Leonard would love a home where he can have a lap to sit in for most of the day and someone to cuddle with at night. He gets along well with other dogs but is intimidated by large dogs, so would do best in a home with other little ones like him. He has great potential to be a loyal, dedicated companion for his new family.
