PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
***This dog is currently located in Arkansas. He/She is listed in all the states we offer transport to or near. Transport is provided by www.heartsllc.com or www.alphadogtransport.com once there is an adopter ready to accept the dog. Meeting the dog prior to adopting is simply not possible, unless you want to come to Arkansas (we would be thrilled to have you, if you want to do some traveling!)Please check the websites referenced to see if one of our transporters offers a stop close to you. We do offer a refund and to take the dog back into rescue, if he/she is not as described or not a good fit for you, if you let us know within a week of receiving him/her. Please understand, we are listing our available dogs anywhere we can, to offer them the best chance of finding the right family and having a happy life filled with love.*** 9/19/19 Meet Scout! Our little Scout comes to rescue from a kill shelter in southern Arkansas. He is a super friendly, sweet natured boy who is looking for a family of his own to love. Scout is estimated to be about 5 months old and he weighs 20lbs. We have had him neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations and he is heartworm negative. Scout is a happy, affectionate, loves-everyone-he-meets kind of guy. He gets along well with other dogs here in our rescue. He is crate trained. I can't say for sure that he is house trained, as the only time he is in the house is when he is in the crate, otherwise he is outdoors since we still have nice weather here in Arkansas. I do believe if he is not house trained already, he would learn the concept quickly. He has never had a single accident in his crate since coming here from the shelter. We have not had the opportunity to see Scout interact with cats so that is an unknown, but with is smarts I believe he could easily learn to co exist with a feline friend, with proper training and supervision. Scout is still a puppy so he needs supervision, or should be crated when he can't be supervised because he does like to chew on things. But he will learn what is ok to chew once he has a family to teach him. We believe he is a Schnauzer mix, but that is a guess. He does have a wiry coat, which is super cute! He may still grow a little bit more, but he has almost reached his max size at 5 months old. So he may end up being 25lbs or so, but I doubt he will exceed that by much if at all. Scout will make a great little companion for any family situation.
