***This dog is currently located in Arkansas. He/She is listed in all the states we offer transport to or near. Transport is provided by www.heartsllc.com or www.alphadogtransport.com once there is an adopter ready to accept the dog. Meeting the dog prior to adopting is simply not possible, unless you want to come to Arkansas (we would be thrilled to have you, if you want to do some traveling!)Please check the websites referenced to see if one of our transporters offers a stop close to you. We do offer a refund and to take the dog back into rescue, if he/she is not as described or not a good fit for you, if you let us know within a week of receiving him/her. Please understand, we are listing our available dogs anywhere we can, to offer them the best chance of finding the right family and having a happy life filled with love.*** 8/27/19 Orca is a beautiful, compact little "pocket pittie." She weighs about 35lbs and is a total love bug! Orca was found as a stray. The people who found her asked the rescue to take her in but unfortunately, we were completely full at that time. So they agreed to keep her until we could find her a foster or a forever home. Sadly, after a few weeks, when our rescue director went over to check on her, it was discovered that they were keeping this sweet girl chained up. Poor Orca had strained against the chain so much, in an effort to get attention, that the chain had cut into her neck, causing a serious neck wound. We took her off the chain and made a spot for her, got her wound treated, and thankfully one of our previous adopters offered to take her into their home as a foster. Orca is now in her foster home, in PA, and she is doing great! Her only issue that we've identified is some separation anxiety (who could blame her after all she's been through!). She gets very anxious in her crate if foster mama is out of sight. Other than that, she is pretty perfect. She is great with other dogs, great with kids, and fine with cats. Orca will make someone a very loyal, loving companion. She is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and less than a year old.
