We do offer a refund and to take the dog back into rescue, if he/she is not as described or not a good fit for you, if you let us know within a week of receiving him/her. Please understand, we are listing our available dogs anywhere we can, to offer them the best chance of finding the right family and having a happy life filled with love.*** 4/17/19 Lucy is such a sweet girl and is so deserving of a loving family of her own. She came into rescue when we took her from a high kill shelter in San Antonio, TX. She is now located in a foster home in AR. Lucy was in the shelter with her one baby that she came in with. We don't know what happened to her other babies, but she and her little Frankie clung to eachother desperately in that shelter. Lucy knew that neither of them were safe. Lucy had no hair at that time. She was malnourished and had demodex mange, complicated by nursing her fat little baby. Now that she is in a foster home where she is treated like royalty, she is thriving. Her hair has grown in and it is baby soft. Little Frankie was adopted about a short time ago, and now it is Lucy's turn to find her happy ever after. Lucy is house trained and she does fine with cats, as well as other dogs as long as they are calm and they are not in her face trying to play. She is not really the playing type, she is more content to snuggle on the bed or sofa and enjoy quiet time. She would be fine with older kids but needs a home that is quiet, as lots of commotion makes her nervous. She would be excellent for a retired person. She is very loving and gets emotionally attached quickly, to those who are kind to her. She does have some separation anxiety so she would do best in a home where she doesn't have to spend long periods home alone. She is very attached to her foster family but will adjust with patience, time, and kindness. She is a beautiful girl who is about 4-5 years old, with a much older soul. She has been through a lot and we promised her it was all up from here! Lucy would love to have someone who will allow her to snuggle in the bed and sofa with them. Her favorite all time activity is cuddling. She also enjoys a good squirrel chase occasionally. :) If you are interested in knowing more about Lucy, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com More about Lucy LouGood with Dogs, Good with Cats Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350.
