About Sadie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

LOCATED IN ARKANSAS! LISTED IN THE STATES SHE CAN TRANSPORT TO OR NEAR, BUT WILL BE LOCATED IN ARKANSAS UNTIL ADOPTED! PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ASKING TO ARRANGE TO MEET HER, UNLESS YOU WANT TO COME TO ARKANSAS TO DO SO. SHE WILL NOT TRANSPORT ACROSS THE COUNTRY UNTIL SHE HAS SOMEONE WHO IS COMMITTED TO MAKING HER PART OF THEIR FAMILY.

4.30.18 Sadie was found as a stray, although we suspect she was probably dumped/abandoned. She was very malnourished and scared when found. Thankfully, a kind hearted person noticed her and took pity on her, and made it their mission to gain her trust and help her. Once her trust was gained, she was nothing but love and mush! Sadie was taken home with her rescuer and has been with her since then. Although they love her very much, they already have a couple of large dogs and just are not equipped/prepared to care for a giant at this time. They believe it it in Sadie's best interest to let her go to a home with a family who is more able to provide for her and care for her. Sadie will be spayed before she goes to her new home and will be brought up to date on all shots. She is a very shy girl at first, so her new family will need to be patient with her, while she learns to trust them. She does well with children, but she is a big girl and is still clumsy so she could easily knock a little one down. That is something to keep in mind. She would never intentionally hurt anyone - she is a very gentle soul. Sadie needs a family who will show her unconditional love, and will help her learn that she will never be abandoned again. Her rescuer/foster family has done a fantastic job of giving her a good foundation to learn with, so it will be up to her forever family to build on that. We will be picky about where she goes. We want to be 100% sure that wherever she goes, it will be the best possible outcome for her, and that it will be her last transition. She deserves to get settled into a family and finally be secure. We believe Sadie is a young adult, maybe 2 years old. We will get a better idea of her age, and her weight, when she goes to be spayed, on May 7th. Due to the added cost of her vetting (because of her XL size) her adoption fee will be more than the usual adult fee. Once she is spayed, I will set her fee. I am not sure at this time what the surgery will cost, so therefore I'm not sure what the fee will need to be. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com. Thank you!

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
