***PLEASE READ ALL INFO! THIS DOG IS LOCATED IN ARKANSAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED ONCE ADOPTED. HE WILL NOT BE TRANSPORTED UNTIL HE HAS SOMEONE COMMITTED TO ADOPT HIM. PLEASE DON'T APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ADOPTING A DOG THAT IS OUT OF STATE. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING A RESCUE!*** 1/26/18 Hendrix is a Bloodhound mix who was rescued from life on a chain in the freezing temps. He is in a wonderful foster home in Arkansas, where he is thriving and learning to be a good boy! We believe he may be mixed with Rhodesian Ridgeback, but that is a guess. He appears to be a very young adult, about a year old, and he weighs about 65lbs. He is house trained, crate trained, friendly with all people and other dogs. Hendrix needs an active family who will be willing to invest the time and effort into training him. He is a great dog and very loving with everyone. But he has a lot of energy! He does sometimes chew on things he shouldn't and he has a habit of counter surfing. His foster mom is working on these issues and his adopter will need to continue to be patient with him while he learns. We strongly recommend the use of a crate for him when he is left home alone. Hendrix would do best in a home with other dogs, but a home as an only dog may be considered for the right adopter. Hendrix is located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once he has an adopter ready for him. He will not be transported to go to a shelter, and will not be transported for a "meet and greet", etc. It wouldn't be fair to put him through such a long trip unless he has someone committed to him. With that said, if he were to arrive and not be a good match or not be as described, his adopter would be entitled to a refund of their adoption fee. His adoption fee is $250 and the transport fee is $140. Hendrix is up to date on shots, neutered, and heartworm free. For more info email kelley.aasr@gmail.com More about HendrixGood with Dogs, Good with Kids Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350.
