4/8/15 Mitch is such a great little guy! He was rescued from a shelter in Arkansas, where he came in as a stray. Mitch appears to be a Poodle/ShihTzu cross. He has the curly hair of a poodle, and the apricot color of a poodle, but the underbite of a shih tzu. :) Our vet estimated him at 5-7 years old and he weighs 10lbs. He is a friendly and happy little man who doesn't ask for much, just a little affection and regular meals. I get the impression that he's never had much so his expectations are low. I would like to change that for him. I want to find him a family that will show him how great life can be. He seems to like everyone he meets. He may not be a good choice for a family with very young kids, under 8 or so, just because they tend to be so energetic and that may make him nervous. Mitch is in need of a good grooming and once that is done, his pictures will be updated. But he's still super cute even though he needs a hair cut. Mitch has heartworms and will be treated for them as soon as possible. It is a very costly treatment so we are currently saving for it. We also have several other dogs that need to be treated but money has been very tight this year so those dogs are still waiting for treatment. :( The ones that have adoptions confirmed will get their treatment first, so they will be able to go to their new homes, making room for others that are in need of rescue. Mitch is in Arkansas and will remain here until adopted. Then he will be transported to the northeast.
