PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
11/4/15 Although he is shy when he meets someone new, it doesn't take long for Remy to come out of his shell! Once he warms up to you, you will see what a happy, goofy, sweet natured boy he is! Remy came to the shelter as a stray. He has been there the longest and is in dire need of a safe place. The "shelter" is not much of a shelter at all - the dogs are outside in the elements with nothing more than a dog house for warmth and comfort. These dogs are getting cold as the temps are dropping at night and before long it will be below freezing. They are on concrete. The shelter is located in a very rural part of Arkansas, and they get very little foot traffic so the dogs there have very little chance of getting out alive. The shelter is filling up and the ones that have been there the longest will be euthanized soon. Remy deserves so much better than that. He has so much laughter and love to bring to a family, and he wants so much to have a home of his own. We do know that Remy is heartworm positive and as a result, another rescue that had committed to him backed out, leaving him in danger of losing his life over something that is very treatable. Once we have a foster or adopter committed to Remy, we will have him treated for heartworms and then we will have him transported to the northeast, to his new family. Remy is a young adult, possibly 2 years old or so, and weighs about 30lbs. We believe he is a shepherd mixed with something smaller, perhaps rat terrier. Please help us get Remy to safety!
