About Betty

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

6/8/14 Betty was a stray, brought into the shelter when she was pregnant. Sadly, the shelter workers put her in a kennel with several other dogs, and once her babies were born, the other dogs killed all but one of the babies (Jessie). Betty tried her best to protect her babies but she could only do so much against several other dogs. Poor girl, I cant imagine the trauma of seeing her babies killed like that. We brought Betty and Jessie into rescue when Jessie was about a week old. We believe with their little short tails, they are cattle dog mixed with possibly lab. It's really impossible to know for sure, we are guessing. Betty is a very friendly, well behaved girl. She gets along well with other dogs, except she guards her food. I feed her in her crate and she does just fine. She is housetrained and crate trained. Betty is not a terribly vocal dog, she is quite mellow and very affectionate. She loves everyone she meets and only wants someone to love her back. Betty is located here in ARkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted.
