MIDNIGHT is a Dogo Argentino, and she is deaf. Midnight was rescued from an animal shelter that worked very hard to find her a rescue so that she would not be euthanized. She has been living with her rescuer and her family whose intent was to provide a safe and loving home for Midnight, forever. Circumstances including personal health issues, along with elderly parents needing around the clock care, has led Midnight's family to move out into the country. Midnight had never been around cows, and horses, and Midnight does not feel comfortable in these type surroundings. She's more acclimated to a quieter lifestyle in a city or suburban home, she doesn't understand farm animals. This beautiful girl is loving and affectionate. Midnight weighs 65 lbs. and is 5 years old. She needs a home that isn't over active, and with someone who can help her feel relaxed, and be comfortable in her new home. Midnight is a little insecure, but a very friendly and loving dog. She adores hugs and kisses, she loves people, including children and adults. It would be best for her to be either the only female dog, or the only dog, in her new home. She does not care for cats, or smaller dogs. She gets along great with dogs her size. She can be food aggressive, but this can be, and has been, easily resolved by simply feeding her away from the other pets. Please don't overlook this sweetheart because of her deafness. If you have never known nor owned a deaf dog, they are simply wonderful. You don't have to learn the true sign language to 'sign' with a deaf dog. Sometimes you just have your own little sign language that your deaf dog and you both understand :) Midnight is a great dog who just needs a family who will LOVE her forever, make her one of their own, and be very patient as she becomes accustomed to her new surroundings and her new family. This sweet one has been spayed, dewormed, and has had a thorough vet check. She is currently on Revolution flea, tick, and heartworm preventative as well. She is 100% healthy, and ready for her forever family to bring her home. Her adoption donation is $300 which allows us to repay the veterinarian for the above. Midnight is currently located in a foster home in Texas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com More about Midnight-DEAFIs Not Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
