PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

11/2/13 Ellie is a beautiful Boxer who was surrendered to us because her owners could not keep her confined to their yard while they were at work each day. Ellie is a pure bred Boxer and is completely deaf. She has been trained using hand signals and is good with them as long as she is not super excited. If she is excited, it is a bit of a challenge to get her to "listen". Ellie is not house trained and I have been unsuccessful with crate training her. However, I admit, she has to spend more time in the crate than she should, and if her time in the crate was shorter, she would probably do fine. She would benefit from a family with a person who stays home with her, or only works part time, so she will be allowed more frequent potty breaks. She does go into her crate willingly and doesn't seem to mind being in it. Ellie has made no attemps to escape my yard and does well with the other dogs that are submissive to her. She does tend to be the dominant dog in our "pack" so she would probably do best in a home where she will be allowed to be the alpha dog. She is very curious about cats and wants to chase them, so a home without cats would be best for Ellie. She loves all people big and smal and is a very friendly, happy go lucky girl! Ellie is 2 years old and is spayed, heartworm free, and up to date on all vaccinations. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
