8/19/13 Poor Sam found himself homeless when his owner's got a divorce. His mom loves him but her now ex husband made her move out of their home and he actually came over and physically picked up Sam and literally threw him out the door, into the yard. Sam is sad and confused. His canine companion, Clyde, was done the same way. Clyde is a very small yorkie mix. They are very bonded but we know we wiill not be able to place them together and while we know it will be an adjustment, we feel that Sam will adjust. He and Clyde are now in a foster home and they are both doing well. Sam is about 4 years old and he has been neutered and is up to date on vet care. Sam is sad right now, and is grieving for his family. But we hope he will adjust soon. He needs a home where he will get more attention than his foster mom is able to give him. She has many foster dogs, of all different breeds, genders, and sizes, and Sam gets along exceedingly well with each of them, but because there are so many, there's not enough time to give much individual attention to any of them. Sam is housetrained and leash trained. He will make a great buddy for any family. He doesn't ask for much, just someone to be kind to him. His feelings were very hurt by the treatment he got from his former dad - he thought he was really loved and now he is confused and sad. He needs a familly to love again. He is great with kids and is very gentle with them. Sam weighs about 60-70 lbs but he is conscious of his size and is gentle and calm around kids. Sam is located in a foster home in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted.
