PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
4/5/13 These lovely ladies were rescued from a kill shelter in Arkansas. They had been picked up as strays and had been at the shelter for over 3 months. When the shelter ran out of space, they were at the top of the list to be euthanized because they had been there the longest. We believe these girls are sisters, and are most likely Lab mixed w/ Doberman Pinscher, as they have the long, slender faces and the slender build of a Dobie. Elizabeth and Victoria are wonderful, very loving, and gentle girls. They are very bonded to eachother and it is important for them to stay together. They are both crate trained and they have never had an accident in their crates. I have to have their crates where they can see eachother, or they will cry. Elizabeth and Victoria are submissive and they do very well with other dogs and cats. They would be great in a home with children, as their gentle nature prevents them from jumping up on people. They are content to lounge around, but would also make great running partners. They are not super high energy, making them ideal for indoor pets. They are both housetrained and enjoy being allowed to sleep in bed with the people and/or cuddle with their people on the couch. Elizabeth tested positive for heartworms when we got her from the shelter, but we have had her treated and she is now parasite free. These girls are in a wonderful foster home in Mass, so potential adopters will have a chance to meet them once they have submitted and application and it has been approved.
