Walker Hound-Female
Adelaide is a 2-yr-old female Walker Hound found starving in a remote rural area. She weighs about 53 lb. She has recuperated nicely from her ordeal and is now fully-vaccinated and spayed. Adelaide has a warm, winsome, affectionate disposition. She is a gentle dog, and somewhat submissive. She plays well with other non-aggressive dogs and greets new canine friends politely. She would do well in a family environment where she can receive the love and attention she so desperately needs. She obviously did not get much love in her past life. She is now house-trained and enjoys sitting on the sofa with her human. She will walk on a leash. Adelaide was born to run. She is athletic, long-legged, lean and muscular and will need a place to run and play. If she's kept in a yard, a 6-ft fence would be best because she can jump a 5-foot fence, hound that she is. In fact, if she could find a home with acreage, she'd love it. When she's outside the fence and can kick into full stride, she's poetry in motion. She ran away from the human she lived with previously because he was mean to her, but she stays pretty close to home at the refuge because she's treated with kindness there. This dog is currently located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. For more information please email kelley.aasr@gmail.com.
