PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Jessie is a lab/pit mix female found wandering in a remote rural area.  She is stunningly marked with a subtle red marbling, white chest and feet.  Jessie now lives at a dog refuge, is fully-vaccinated, spayed, parasite negative and current on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.  She stands about 24  inches at the shoulder and weighs 58 lb.  We estimate her date of birth at August 2010.  This is a wonderful family dog, well-adjusted and obedient.  If one word could describe Jessie, it's "DEVOTED".  More than anything, Jessie just wants to be with her people.  She values her person's touch and attention over anything.  At first meeting, she's a little cautious, but she quickly relaxes and wants to show you her Kong toys.  She is smart, active and athletic.  She would enjoy a nice fenced yard where she could run and play a rousing game of fetch.  Jessie plays well with other non-aggressive dogs.  She doesn't do as well with cats.  She is gentle with young children, loves hugs, knows how to sit for a treat, then takes it gently from your hand.  She is house-trained, with only occasional mishaps if she gets anxious.  She knows how to walk on a leash.  She's pretty much a homebody and doesn't care much for riding in the car.  This dog is currently located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
