PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

11/25/11 Maverick's momma was a stray who a good samaritan took pity on. Turns out, the mama dog (who we have named Penelope) has been a stray in this neighborhood for about a year and a half. She is a Great Pyrenees. She has lived in an abandoned house all that time, fending for herself. She is very thin but has obviously taken exceptional care of her babies. A resident in the neighborhood noticed the puppies and decided to step in and help. When I found out about the situation, I decided to take in the mama dog and the 2 puppies that had not already found homes. I didn't want Penelope left out there on her own. She and the babies are doing very well here and the puppies are ready for their new homes. They will get their 2nd set of shots on Dec. 7th and can go to their new families after that. Maverick is very friendly and outgoing. He is just like a little bear! He will be a very large dog - Penelope weighs about 75lbs and needs to gain some more weight. I believe Maverick will be as large as she is. He needs a home with a family who is prepared for a dog of that size. Maverick will make a wonderful companion - he loves to be loved! Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
