About Ziggy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog

Ziggy
This big beauty came into rescue back in January. She promptly had a litter of pups a week later. We didn't even know she was pregnant. Her puppies have all found loving home and now that she has been spayed, it's Ziggys turn! Ziggy is very social and loving. She thinks she is a small dog and will try to sit on your lap. Ziggy was previously in a home with a male Rottweiler, and several 6-8 month old pups and she was very social with all of them. In her foster home, she is on the crate/rotate system. She has never shown any aggression towards any other dog. With proper introduction and patience, we feel that she would do well in a home with other dogs. She could also be happy as an only dog. Ziggy is gorgeous and weighs 120 lbs. She could stand to lose a little weight. An ideal weight for her would probably be about 100lbs. It is common for dogs to become overweight in foster homes where they are on the crate/rotate system, and I'm sure she will slim down once adopted into a home where she can be more active. She loves playing fetch and will bring the ball back every time and drop it. She is a gentle soul and we are anxious for her to finally find her forever family.
**Ziggy was an owner surrender due to her owners health. She was imported to the US by a police officer who was promoted to be a k-9 officer and therefore gave up his personal pets. He then rehomed her to the man who surrendered her to us. She has never been abused or mistreated.
