PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
12/17/22 This big beauty came into rescue earlier this year, along with her 2 puppies. They had been dumped at a construction company and were in terrible shape, starved almost completely to death. Her two puppies were adopted as soon as they were healthy, but Mama had to go thru heartworm treatment before she could be ready for a new home. She has now been treated and has gotten up to a healthy weight. Mama is extremely shy. We would love to find her a home nearby so she will not have to endure transport, but we would consider transporting her out of state for the perfect home. Mama's perfect home would be one with a family who will be very patient with her as she learns to trust them. She has never had any aggression towards anyone, but would definitely be a flight risk until she knows she is safe. Therefore, a home with a fenced yard would be ideal. Once she knows she is safe, she is incredibly loving. She is very bonded to her foster mom, and leaving her will be a hard adjustment. But her foster never intended to keep her, and one of her other dogs has taken a disliking to Mama, so she can't keep her. Despite the one dog not liking her, Mama gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and would probably do best in a home with another calm, confident dog. Her foster home includes dogs from tiny toy size to about her size of 50-60 lbs. She is fine with cats as well. Calm, respectful children don't bother her, but rowdy, loud kids would probably make her nervous. We haven't been able to pinpoint a breed, but for the purpose of this listing, we are going to call her a giant schnauzer mix. She has a slightly scruffy, wiry coat. She is house trained and crate trained. We believe she is about 4-5 years old. Located in Arkansas, transport available.
