PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

12/4/22 ❤️Morty❤️ If I had to describe Morty in one word, it would be HAPPY! This boy is just always happy. He is as sweet as they come, very lovable. Morty has a heartbreaking story. He was kept in a shed with no light, no windows, no ventilation....nothing. He escaped occasionally and when he did, his owner would catch him, abuse him, and put him back in the shed. Thankfully on one of his escapes, a neighbor saved him. Given his story, it's no wonder Morty treasures the little things like cuddling, being pet, being covered up with a blanket, laying on the couch, and being with his people. He takes nothing for granted. He loves all people even though he has every reason not to after the way he was treated.  Morty is quite the character with a really fun personality. I can't quite put it into words and pictures just don't capture his personality or his cuteness!  He's estimated to be about 3 years old though could be a little younger. He is a 5 star cuddler. He loves to be pet and loves to snuggle up with people. He likes to be in your lap, or as close to it as he can, when you're on the couch relaxing. If you don't let your dogs on the couch, Morty is not your guy. He really likes to sleep with his people at night too. He is playful but not hyper. Likes toys. LOVES car rides and is a good boy when in the car. Morty seems very adaptable and outgoing. He loves to be with people but is crate trained and doesn’t mind being left at home when he can’t join the humans. He is good with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. He would be great with kids! He does sometimes play bite when he’s excited and wants you to pay attention or play with him, so he may not be best fit real young kids. He would never hurt anyone on purpose but may accidentally hurt a toddler when he’s excited. He is currently fostered with a very dog savvy cat. Morty likes the cat but wants to play with him and sometimes is a little rough on the cat because he doesn’t understand that the cat does not want to play. He needs to work on some of the basics (sit, stay, wait, etc). He is not 100% housetrained, but he's getting there! We only have his looks to go by for his breed, but best guess is American Bulldog mix or maybe Boxer mix? He’s probably very mixed, Heinz 57, the best kind! Morty is truly a gem and whoever adopts him will have a life filled with love and happiness from Morty. Sweet, sweet boy.

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
