Meet Buddy! This big guy came into rescue as a retired breeder dog. He was underweight and had heartworms. He has been treated for hw and has gained a good amount of weight and is now ready for his own home and family. Buddy is about 4-5 years old. He is NOT housetrained but his foster family is working with him. He lived his whole life in a kennel before being rescued so being in a home is a new concept for him. He is learning slowly but surely. Buddy seems to be fine with other dogs, particularly females. He currently shares his foster home with the resident female chihuahua and he does very well with her. He spent a couple of weeks with a temp foster where there were several other small dogs, males and females, cats, and free range chickens, and 2 toddler age kids and he was fine with all of them. Hes more of a lover than a fighter. He hates being in a crate. When he first came to us, he humped everything in sight but that has improved dramatically since he's been neutered, thankfully. Buddy will need a very patient adopter who is willing to help him continue to learn how to be a member of the family. He is very affectionate and has no idea what personal space is. He likes to be as close to his person as possible and will sit and just stare at you until you acknowledge him. He has a ton of character and will be worth the effort you put into his training. Buddy walks very well on leash and enjoys car rides. Location: Arkansas. Transport is available but adopter must be able to meet transporter at one of the following locations/times on Fridays. Harrisburg, PA 2am PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU AND EVERYONE IN YOUR HOME IS SERIOUS ABOUT ADOPTION AND YOU ARE ABLE TO MEET TRANSPORT AT ONE OF THE TIMES AND LOCATIONS LISTED ABOVE.
