About Jezebel

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog

Maybelle (brindle) and Jezebel (white) were brought into rescue when their owners moved away and left them chained to a tree in the yard, with no shelter, no food, no water, and no way to find any of those necessities. These girls were very scared at first and it took some time for them to trust us. But they soon learned that not all people are bad and since that realization, they have been the sweetest girls! Unfortunately, our rescue is bursting at the seams and when they came in, the only place we had to offer them was an outdoor kennel (it is attached to a large shed and they have a doghouse inside the shed with a heat lamp and plenty of straw). They were acclimated to living outdoors and this was a definite improvement over living on short chains. But even so, we are anxious for them to find their forever homes with people who will make them part of the family and show them all the good things in life. We have had them spayed, utd on shots, and they both tested neg for heartworms. When taken to the vet, each of them greeted strangers with tail wags and friendly kisses so we know they are ready to find their forever families. Maybelle and Jezebel are a good pair but would be fine separated. Jezebel would do best with another dog in the home. She seems more dependent on Maybelle than Maybelle is on her. Both would adjust to life without eachother, it's just that they've always only had eachother so they are pretty close. Both of these girls walked right past all the cats at the clinic without showing them any attention so it is my belief that they would learn to live peacefully with cats, given some training and of course supervision. Both girls will be great family members if they are just given a chance. They are available now.
