Basset Hound : : Female : : Adult : : Medium
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
Please note! Daisy is located in Arkansas. She is listed for adoption in the states that we offer transport to or near. She will not transport until she has an adopter approved and ready for her. We use Alpha Dog Transport and you can see more about them at www.alphadogtransport.com. 1/17/2020 Daisy came into rescue from a neglectful home. She had been starved nearly to death and was living her entire life chained to the porch of her previous owner. She has been with us for a couple of months now, and has gained weight and is doing wonderful! She is a delightful little girl. She weighs just under 30lbs and is approx. 1 year old so probably won't get much bigger. Daisy loves other dogs and all people, including kids. She is gentle and sweet natured and just full of life. She could stand some training, as she still jumps up on people in her eagerness for attention. But she will learn quickly once she is in a home where she can receive more one on one attention. She is very food motivated which will make training easy. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night in her crate without accidents and without a sound. She is still working on house training, but again, will learn much more quickly once she has the benefit of individual attention. It is hard to train a dog in the rescue setting, with so many dogs here. Daisy appears to be all Basset Hound or mostly Basset Hound. If there's anything mixed in there, it's not much. She definitely has the Basset Hound ears. Her legs a little longer than some Bassets that I've seen, but she is still very short in height and long in length. She will make a great addition to any home. She is very good about coming when called. She may need some work on leash training but she has been introduced to the leash and does pretty good with it, we just don't have a need to leash her here.
