PLEASE READ! Nelly is located in Arkansas. She is listed for adoption in all the states we offer transport to or near. She will remain in her foster home in AR until adopted, at which time she will be transported to meet her family.

2/25/19 Nelly is just the sweetest girl! We pulled her and her newborn babies from a very high kill shelter in San Antonio, TX. Nelly is currently in a foster home in Arkansas but can be transported out of state once she has a family ready for her. Nelly has the sweetest, most loving personality. She adores her foster family, even the cat and other dog in the home. She is a little bit shy at first, but warms up once she knows she is safe. Nelly has had a hard life. It appears that she was hit by a car at some point. Most of her teeth on one side of her mouth have been broken off. As a result, her jaw line sags a bit on that side. This does not affect her ability to eat normally. She also has a broken toe on that same side. Both of these injuries occurred and were healed by the time we got her, so there was nothing medically to be done about them. Our vet estimates Nelly to be about 5 years old. She is roughly 60lbs and we believe she is a Rottweiler mix. She has the bob tail of a Rotti and many of the markings. Nelly is a low key gal who loves to bask in the sunshine or cuddle under a blanket on the sofa. She would be excellent in a home with or without kids. She needs a family who can be a little bit patient with her while she learns to trust them. But once they gain that trust, she will repay them with a lifetime of loyalty and endless love. She will be well worth the effort her family puts into gaining her trust. She has never shown one bit of aggression towards anyone - not even the resident cats. She is nothing but love and kindness. Nelly has been spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and tested negative for heartworms. For more info on adopting Nelly, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com
