PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. **PLEASE READ ALL INFO BELOW!** 9/4/17 Chesney was surrendered to the rescue by a breeder who shut down her breeding operation. She had 2 puppies that were not purchased yet when she was ready to close down, and she surrendered both of them to us. Chesney is one and Rascal, a Cavalier/Poodle is the other. Chesney is a beautiful boy! He was born 1/2017 so he is less than a year old. Chesney is a pure Cavalier and is a sweet heart. He does get a bit overwhelmed/intimidated when all the dogs here start barking at once. It scares him. He doesn't try to bite or show any aggression at all when scared, he just cowers and tries to hide. He would do best in a home that is fairly quiet. I don't think he would do well with very young children, as I think the noise and quick movements that comes along with little ones would be scary for him. Chesney enjoys being held and loved on and is a very affectionate little guy. He is crate trained and has been working on house training. He is doing well with it, but does still have occasional accidents if I'm not paying enough attention. I think in a more structured environment, he would have it mastered in no time. Chesney is located in Arkansas and will be transported out of state once adopted. Being a full bred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chesney's adoption fee is more than that of most of our older puppy/adult dogs. His adoption fee will be used to pay for the heartworm treatment for a dog who has been waiting a long time to be treated but because of the expense, we have not been able to provide the treatment. In keeping with the adoption of the breed specific Cavalier rescue organizations, the adoption fee for Chesney is $500. This is actually a little less than most charge for a Cavalier that is less than 12 months old. (Please see http://www.luckystarcavalierrescue.org/info/adoption) And MUCH less than a breeder would charge. The breeder that he came from charged well over $1000 for her puppies. Chesney has been neutered and is up to date on all shots. There is also a transport fee of $140, as he is located in ARkansas but will be transported to the state of his adopter once an adopter is approved and ready for him. For more info and to get an adoption application, please email kelley.aasr@gmail.com More about ChesneyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
